With a background in computer science and a 24-year career in tech and global product strategy, I shifted gears to hotel management and later co-founded a hospitality software company with my husband. After years of intense work, I embraced the Entrepreneurial Organization mindset, learning to work on my business rather than in it. At the same time, I discovered Yoga Teacher Training, realizing that life itself mirrors this principle—working on life, not just living in it.

Gardening has become the newest extension of my journey—a way to bring together everything I’ve learned from entrepreneurship, family life, and yoga. Fifteen years ago, gardening was a complete mystery to me. After spending so much time behind a computer, I dreamed of growing just one tomato. I started with a single tomato plant and a large curry leaf plant gifted by my cousin. Today, that curry plant is thriving, and with my family pitching in, we’ve built and maintained a vegetable garden that brings new adventures each year.

I live in Berwyn, PA, with my wonderful husband and three children, where our home garden has become a place of joy, learning, and connection. I’m passionate about helping others get started with confidence—removing the mystery around growing and maintaining a home garden. By combining practical guidance with mindfulness and a spirit of community, I hope to create spaces where people can connect, share, and flourish—tending not only to their plants, but to themselves. I’d love to hear your story, dig into the soil beside you, and grow a thriving community of gardeners who support and inspire one another through every season.

At my core I am a dynamic teacher and leader and feel a sense of joy when I am working with others, especially outdoors! I have been gardening since I was a child and helped my mom harvest our herbs and vegetables from our amazing garden growing up in California. I was enamored at how we could grow many ingredients for our meals in our very own yard and that they tasted better than from the store. I was also surprised to learn that not everyone was gardening like we were!

Since my childhood of gardening and eating fresh, I have enjoyed teaching, coaching, and developing new curriculum for various subjects and grades. Prior to this I was a publisher of a national sports magazine and then ran an account management team in eCommerce for another dozen years. I have lived all over, including San Francisco, Colorado, Chicago, Dallas, England, and Philadelphia.

I currently live in Newtown Square with my loving husband and two teenage children. We are all athletes, love the outdoors, and work together in our yard alongside our pets. At Heart & Soil I welcome a cohesive and curious environment where together we work to share our love of gardening with all those around us.

Last summer, I joyfully watched as a monarch butterfly laid eggs on milkweed I had grown from seed. I watched those tiny eggs turn into caterpillars and, eventually, into butterflies. That moment reminded mewhy I love gardening—it’s about creating space for life to thrive.

’m a garden designer, problem-solver, and lifelong learner who believes outdoor spaces should be both beautiful and meaningful. I discovered gardening after moving to the Philadelphia area about 30 years ago. What began with growing vegetables in containers quickly grew into a passion for designing gardens that evolve with the seasons and support both people and nature.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve grown vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers, learning through hands-on experience how soil, climate, and thoughtful design come together to create successful gardens. Today, my focus is on designing outdoor spaces where people can gather, grow food and flowers, relax, and reconnect—while also being mindful of native insects, birds, and pollinators.

Professionally, I’m a product manager with a background in building thoughtful, user-centered solutions. That approach shapes how I work with clients—listening carefully, designing with intention, and creating gardens that truly fit the way people live.

When I’m not in the garden, I love hiking, spending long summer days outdoors, and finding inspiration in nature. Through Heart & Soil Gardens, my goal is to design gardens that invite connection, encourage growth, and bring joy season after season.
